Meet our Dental Family

The dentist and the dental hygienist work together to meet the oral health needs of patients. Dental hygienists clean teeth, remove calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth, apply preventive materials such as fluoride, assess oral health conditions, examine patients for oral diseases such as gingivitis and oral cancer, and provide other preventative dental care. They also educate appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; i.e. toothbrushing, flossing and counsel patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health.
